In 2006 Wake, See, Dimes, Bryniczka, Day & Bloom celebrates its first sixty years of  law practice.  The firm plans a series of events for clients and the general community to celebrate this milestone. 


Mario F. Coppola has joined the law firm as its newest associate.  Mr. Coppola is a native of West Haven and has previously practiced in New Haven. 


Amy L.Y. Day was selected for inclusion in the 2007 Edition of Best Lawyers in America in the Trusts and Estates area.  Inclusion in this prestigious guide is based upon an exhaustive and rigorous peer-review survey.


Ira W. Bloom was a featured speaker in March, 2006 at a Connecticut Bar Association seminar entitled “Land Use Essentials.”  Mr. Bloom is a frequent speaker at bar association seminars.


Douglas E. LoMonte made a presentation to The Directors' Circle of The Early Care & Education Training Institute in Danbury, Connecticut on February 8, 2006. Mr. LoMonte spoke about his considerable experience with employment issues involving nursery schools, preschools and child daycare centers.


Mark J. Kovack, recently sucessfully prosecuted a commercial arbitration claim in New York City, resulting in a six figure award to his client as the result of providing the defendants' bad fiath and breach of an exclusive distribution agreement. The subject contract afforded the defendants exclusive rights regarding Mr. Kovack's clients' product in the North American market.


Mark J. Kovack, also recently obtained a judgement in favor of his client after a three day court trial, wherein the plaintiff claimed to have a superior contractual right to that of Mr. Kovack's clients' to purchase property on Candlewood. Mr. Kovack successfully defeated the plaintiff's claim for specific performance to purchase the property in question, and upheld his clients' rights, title and interests in the property.


Mark J. Kovack, concluded a five day court trial recently, involving claims of fraud, misrepresentation and negligence in connection with the sale of residential real property in Cheshire, and awaits the courts ruling. Mr. Kovack has successfully defended a number of similar claims in the past on behalf of brokers and real estate sales persons, and anticipates a favorable ruling this time.


Mark J. Kovack, in Februalry, Mr. Kovack presented oral argument to the Connecticut Appellate Court in Hartford, concerning a matter where Mr. Kovack's client won its breach of contract claim at the trial level, but contends that the trial judge failed to award it all of the damages that it was justly due as a result of the defendants' breach.


Mark J. Kovack, recently concluded a two day seminar with the International Institute For Conflict Prevention and Resolution, designed to evelate and improve the alternative dispute resolution (ADR) skills of the participants. Mr. Kovack offers ADR services to the public, and he serves as a court-appointed "Special Master" in connection with pending state court litigations.


Douglas E. LoMonte spoke at a seminar presented by the National Business Institute in New Haven, Connecticut on October 1, 2004. The seminar was entitled "Limited Liability Company Update in Connecticut". The full-day seminar is designed for attorneys, CPAs and accountants.


Lisa Levy recently spoke to several organizations regarding basic estate planning at Founder's Hall (Senior Center) in Ridgefield. As part of their program on personal finance, she later joined John Taylor, a trust officer with Union Savings Bank, in a presentation on the use of trusts in estate planning at Founder's Hall.
